Advocacy and Policy
On November 1, 2018, CMS released the CY 2019 Final Rule outlining changes to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System under Year 3 of the Quality Payment Program. Along with the Final Rule, CMS released an Executive Summary and Overview and Fact Sheet highlighting the finalized policies. The AANA Research and Quality Division is diligently working to inform AANA members about the pertinent changes applicable to CRNAs. On June 30, 2016, Guam opted out of the federal CMS supervision requirement. There are now 17 states and Guam which have attained this tremendous achievement.
