Article VII, Section 5, H: Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee shall analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate the educational content and programs of the AANA.
Committee meetings not associated with an established face-to-face educational meeting may be in-person, via conference call and/or via video-conferencing. Committee members are involved in the following:
- Joint Committee Conference
- Fall Leadership Academy
- Mid-Year Assembly
- AANA Annual Congress
- Monthly Committee Conference Calls
- The Chairperson or a designee will participate in each AANA Workshop and participate in the planning conference calls for future workshops
Specific attendance at meetings/workshops will be determined by the Chairperson.
For the Fiscal Year 2019 Committee:
- August 25-26, 2018 - Park Ridge, Ill. (Possibly August 27th morning if needed)
The typical Joint Committee Conference which is a kick off meeting for some committees will be held earlier in the year as a committee orientation and kickoff. Please note this date change.
The Fiscal Year 2019 Committee's duties will officially begin following the September 22-25, 2018 Annual Congress.
As an essential component of the AANA’s educational process, this group helps ensure adherence to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accreditation criteria. Between meetings, the Committee maintains involvement in the aspects of the educational programs including member needs assessment, topics and faculty selection, implementation, and evaluation review of current materials as well as planning for future programs.
